City in transition

City: Toulouse
State: France

Description:

The Transition movement was born in Great Britain in 2006 in the small town of Totnes. Permaculture teacher Rob Hopkins created the Transition model with his students in Kinsale, Ireland, a year earlier. Today, there are more than 2,000 Transition initiatives in 50 countries, 150 of them in France, in the International Transition Network. It is a question of inciting the citizens of a territory (borough, district of a city, village...), to realize, on the one hand, the profound consequences that will have on our lives the convergence of the peak of oil And climate change and, on the other hand, the need to prepare for it in practice.
